"I don't know about you, but if I'm faced with either standing in one place and dying or making some kind of attempt to escape and dying in the process, I'd pick that second choice!" Teip snapped at the other man, defensive. "I want to go down running if I can't go down fighting, excuse me if you have some kind of problem with that!" He was preparing to continue into a heartfelt rant concerning how humans thought they were weak only because the Xzechnar were brainwashing them, when the others at the windows sighted the patrol approaching their building.
"So... I guess the kid was right..." he conceded, lowering his head. "Uh... just act normal and don't give them any reason to think we're hiding anything. 'Cause we aren't. Right? Right?" Teip glanced around the room, just then realizing that he did not know a few of the others in the room, or whether or not they were involved in what the patrols were crushing. "Come to think of it, some of us should probably find somewhere less crowded, so it looks-"
Teip's eyes widened when Aka screamed, and he turned his head quickly to look where she had been sitting moments earlier. In a flash, he darted to the window, leaning over the crate to see her dangling below. "Hold on, I'm gonna pull you back in," Teip said hurriedly, reaching down and grabbing Aka's wrists, and at the same time throwing a brief glance at the drone nearby. "Okay... I just need you to let go of the window, and I'll get you back in. I've got you. Just calm down, and let go," he urged, bracing himself and tightening his grip on her wrists.

Trying to stop himself from crying, he responded to the guard. "I will watch for any suspicious activity, and I will report it..." Biting his lip, he gathered up enough courage to speak again. "Honestly, did you really have to throw my bed around the room.. and did he really need to break that crate..?" He felt nervous after saying that, questioning whether if it was a good idea to say that, or not.

The lanky red head winced as the noise outside surged, quickly directing his eyes to the window. "See?--Ah--I told you.... " He blinked unevenly, reflexively standing when Aka literally fell through. "ah--ack?!--Is sh--she okay?--please be okay...OKAY?!?!" He look around frantically, his heart pounding in his chest, the threat of the Xechnar coming in and destroying everything--again, looming there in the distance. "Ugh..Uhh--all of you, get out! We're going to be in r--rbig trouble if they come in and everytnig---uhh..EVERYONE IS HERE...Uhh,,please leave, uhh--I--I'm sy, just go!" He stammered, attemptin g to shoo away much of the excesss loiterers in the room.

The xzechnar that had #4-576C held fast by the neck growled in annoyance when the young man failed to understand that what he had said was a command meant to be followed right then, not in the near future. "YOU WILL REPORT NOW, SCUM!" he roared, shaking the man ruthlessly. Most xzechnar were infamous for their horribly bad tempers and if there hadn't been a helmet on this xzechnar's head at the moment, #4-576C would have a full set of large, serrated, off-white teeth snarling in his face. Annoyed by the human's questions, the guard growled furiously in reply and threw #4-576C to the floor with moderate force, placing one foot on the man's back to keep him pinned. "You said that you have nothing, so nothing it will be," he thundered, shifting some of his weight onto the poor man. "You are not authorized to question and will only do what you are told. Just like the rest of your weakling race!" That having been said, the guard applied a bit more pressure before sweeping one armored claw down to send #4-576C slamming into the wall nearby. Then, not giving the man a chance to recover or scrable for safety, he seized him from the back of his uniform, pulled #4-576C up until only his toes dragged the ground, and jammed an armored knee into his gut, dropping him again and kicking him somewhat as an end note.

As the beating came to an end, the second guard lumbered out of the back room after reducing every free-standing object in the apartment to useless splinters or twisted scrapmetal and approached his parter. "All clear, nothing here," he informed flatly.

"That's too bad," the first rumbled, chuckling before activating a comm link to city twenty-four operation command. "Investigations Patrol #22645-Xrazuk; Sector C, primary, housing complex #002G; floor three is all clear. Requesting citizen transfer to housing complex #002F; #4-576C, male; over."

"Patrol #22645-Xrazuk, you have clearance; proceed with transfer; over," a female xzechnar answered, stationed at operation command.

The guard sneered behind his helmet as he looked down at citizen #4-576C, cocking his head to one side and muttering something in his native language. "Moving day, #4-576C," he rumbled. "On your feet." With that, the guard turned and headed for the door, leaving his companion to make sure the young man did as he was told.

"You heard him, on you feet, #4-576C. We don't have all day."

As Aka's scream echoed through the air and she dangled helplessly from the windowsill, the two armored xzechnar in the street below looking upwards, one sidestepping the planks of wood and rain of crumbling glass as it fell to the ground.

Aka continued to whimper in both pain and panic as Teip leaned over the window and seized her by her wrists, telling her to let go of the sill so that he could pull her back into the apartment. She hesitated and, in that small time frame, one of the guard below had drawn a semiautomatic firearm from the secure holster on his back and aimed it up at the girl, firing. Aka screamed again as a rain of bullets just barely missed her side and suddenly let go of the windowsill, the bullets pelting the building face beside her. "PULL ME IN...! PULL ME IN...!" she gasped, eying the nearby drone nervously as it continued to hover about.

Teip gritted his teeth as the bullets hit the building and narrowly missed Aka, and braced himself further as he lifted her up and over the broken window frame, shoving his foot against the wall beside it to faster pull the girl through to safety. The force sent him toppling backward to the floor, but with Aka in his grasp, out of the line of fire and back inside the room.
"Please... don't do that again..." Teip released Aka's wrists and sat upright, moving her off him and giving the window a small frown, before glancing back to her again. "You okay? Any serious injury, or anything?" he asked. "That was quite a fall you almost had."

The two men nearest the other windows didn't respond to Teip in the slightest, neither to Aka's plight after almost tumbling to her death, the thinner of the two looking back in the direction of the stairwell when the snarling language of the xzechnar four floors beneath them traveled up the stairwell shaft. "They're skipping the other floors; we gotta move...!" he hissed, ignoring the redhead boy until he had tried to shoo them out of the room. "You have a problem with us being here, boy?" The larger man nudged the other before things would turn ugly, frowning and motioning that they should be on their way anyhow.

Aka lay in a heap beside Teip on the distressed floorboards of the apartment after he had moved her off of him, shaking like a leaf as she slowly moved to sit on her legs and hiding her hands from view, rocking back and forth slightly as she bit down on her lower lip and closed hr eyes tightly. She shook her head from side to side in response to Teip's questions, but it was quite obvious that she was in more than a little pain, having been gripping the jagged, and rusty, windowsill so hard that the glass and worn metal had practically sliced down to bone. She trembled endlessly as she watched the two men leave in a slight hurry, the nearby stairwell down the hall rattling under the jarring tread of the xzechnar patrol hurriedly scaling it. Aka then looked to the last stranger that was left in the room, the distraught man who had broken down a while ago after the others had confirmed the arrival of a second patrol. Although, the more she stared at him, the more she began to sense that something wasn't quite right about him... not even remotely. The look in his eyes was identical to that of a cornered animal pushed to desperation, and that, by anyone's definition, was a magnet for trouble in these times.

He uneasily got up, groaning in pain, and started to limp towards the door; with the thought that the other guard might hit him, muttering under his breath. "Coming...". Not noticing what has been going on, he limped to the door, and looked blankly at the xzechnar. "Moving day... moving day..". He repeated this under his breath several times, and then looked blankly at the floor. "Let's go."

The guard still in the room scoffed at the human as he got to his feet and stumbled towards the door, shoving him roughly with the back of one armored hand without much of any respect at all. Then, with the other xzechnar directly in front of #4-576C and the second guard bringing up the rear, the two merciless reptilian monsters escorted the gaunt man down the distressed hallway to the dimly lit stairwell. The xzechnar behind #4-576C shoved him again once they reached the stairs before snarling at him to keep moving, continuing with this harsh treatment until they had stepped outside of the building and started across the street to the complex located on the other side.

The xzechnar at the front then stopped to talk in his native tongue with the guard stationed directly outside of the other building, soon finding out that there was currently a situation up on the fifth floor, but that it was being taken care of. He then motioned to his companion and the guard behind #4-576C seized him from the back of the neck and shoved him roughly forward into the complex. For the most part, the interior was in the same poorly maintained condition as its twin across the street and the layout was practically identical, with certain areas boarded off with both wood and sheet metal that would've allowed for any other exit besides the main. "Up the stairs, human," the guard growled, motioning for #4-576C to hurry and start up the stairs. "You are moved to a new housing location on floor five. Move it."

Aka continued to watch the desperate shell of a man that was huddled against the wall near where the door to the apartment should've been, not noticing that her hands were bleeding so profusely that the blood had begun run, staining parts of her uniform's sleeves a deep, rich red. The poor man knew that he would be joining the others in the carrier of corpses below as soon as his identification chip was scanned by one of the xzechnar noisily scaling the stairwell, and it was obvious that he intended to do some damage before being dispatched by the guards. "Teip..." she stammered while still staring at the man, who had begun to reach inside of the shirt of his uniform. "We have to leave... We have to leave now... It's not safe here... He's not safe... They'll kill us all, Teip... They'll kill us all if they find us in here with him..."

Teip, who had been frowning at Aka's sleeves as they grew steadily redder, tore his eyes from her to instead follow her gaze to the other occupant of the room. "Right," he agreed, still looking over the other man. "Let's get out of here. Out, come on." He grabbed Aka's collar and stood, in the same movement pushing her toward the door, and then stepped over to the redheaded boy and grabbed his arm as well to lead him with him after her. "Yeah. They're coming up," he observed at the unmistakable sound of the larger creatures on the stairs, his frown deepening. "Another room. Find one." With that, Teip began to hastily check the corridor for a vacant or at least nearly vacant room, still holding on to the boy's arm, intent on finding one before the Xzechnar arrived on the same floor with them.
